Application of UPVC in closed cooling towers

UPVC tube use polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin as raw material, without plasticizer. With the development of chemical industry technology, now can produce pipes with non-toxic grade, so it has the general properties of polyvinyl chloride, and added some excellent performance, specifically it has the advantages of corrosion resistance and good softness, which are suitable for water supply pipes. Due to it does not conduct electricity, so it is not easy to react with acid, alkali, and salt electrochemical reaction, which makes it doesn't need external anticorrosive coating and lining. And the softness which overcomes the weakness of brittleness of plastic pipe in the past, and can yield without cracking under the action of load. In addition, the UPVC tube has small elastic modulus and thus can reduce the amplitude of the pressure impact and the impact force of the water flow. UPVC tube also has smooth inner wall and low water resistance, so it is obvious that the hydraulic conditions are good. When conveying the same liquid with the same pipe diameter, the resistance of UPVC pipe is about 30% less than galvanized pipe or cast iron pipe. Since the inner wall of the UPVC tube is smooth, the internal flow of liquid will not scale, so its conveying capacity will not decrease with the increase of running time. And this also is galvanized pipe and cast iron pipe insurmountable shortcomings.

The UPVC tube also features light weight. Which has advantages of convenient transportation. The proportion of UPVC pipe is around 1.4 (the proportion of cast iron pipe is about 7.4), which is only the 1/5 of cast iron pipe's weight. Secondly, handling, loading and unloading, construction are easy for the engineer and workers on construction site, it can help to reduce the labor intensity of workers, shorten the construction period. 

The application of UPVC in closed cooling tower has become mature, its installation is convenient, corrosion resistance is favored by manufacturers and users of closed cooling tower.
