2020-07-10

For first time customers who use closed cooling tower, the outer plate can be easily damaged due to improper protection, causing certain losses. Today we Huatal would like to share outer plate pretection methods of closed cooling tower with you, hope it can helps.

  1.  Daily maintenance - Gently rinse:

Simple pressure cleaning (for metal outer plates only), use regular cleaning tool kits, once a year with detergent or ammonia (more often in Marine and industrial environments), These methods are very helpful to keep stainless steel clean and avoid air pollution.

  2. Less surface dirt - Gently rinse:

It is recommended to use a sponge or sideburns brush and gently wipe with detergents that DO NOT contain abraser. After cleaning, rinse with a pressure gun or hose with warm water. Dry with a towel and apply high quality wax to the cleaned area for added protection.

  3. Cleaning - Remove fingerprints or grease:

Repeat steps 1 & 2, then use a hydrocarbon detergents such as acetone or alcohol. CAUTION!!! Be careful when using any hydrocarbon detergents!!! Do not use them in small spaces!!! DO NOT smoking!!! DO NOT let your hands and skin directly touch the hydrocarbon detergents!!! It also can be cleaned by using a household glass cleaner and a wire cleaning brush. After cleaning, dry with a towel and apply high quality wax to the clean area for added protection.

  4. Remove stains or slight rust:

If there are any stains or abnormal colors found on stainless steel surface, remove rust and stain with chrome, brass or silver detergents immediately. Gentle non-scratch creams and polishing creams are also can be used. When the cleaning step is complete, apply high quality wax for added protection.

  5. Acid removal of serious rust, iron contamination, spots, solder discoloration and solder droppings:

Try steps 1 to 4 first. If stains and rust are not removed, hot water should be used to flush surfaces, apply saturated oxalic acid solution or 10-15% phosphoric acid solution to the rust spots with a soft cloth and leave for a while, do not wipe, the acid will corrode the iron particles. Rinse the surface with ammonia, then rinse the surface again with hot water and apply a high quality wax to enhance protection. Be extremely careful when using acids! Synthetic rubber gloves must be used. Goggles and aprons are recommended. Do NOT use this method if the closed cooling tower unit contains galvanized steel parts.

As a minimum standard, the above instruction should be followed when maintaining and cleaning stainless steel closed cooling tower units. When cleaning stainless steel, DO NOT use coarse abrasive sandpaper or other abrasive materials. DO NOT wash with mineral acids; DO NOT expose stainless steel to iron or carbon steel.

Hope our instructions may help you with your closed cooling tower units. Huatal Group has been committed to becoming a world-class cooling system and service provider. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries about the closed cooling tower, we will do our best to help you.
